Long Beach Boardwalk – Shoes For All, the not for profit organization that donates new and gently worn shoes to those in need in the community is holding it’s annual “One Day Without Shoes” walkathon on the Long Beach Boardwalk at Laurelton Boulevard on Sunday, April 29th from 10am-2pm. This year’s goal is to raise $5,000.00 for our brave veterans.

The Long Island Patient Safety Education Fund at Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy
Each year Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy holds a Spring Symposium for the public with guest speakers presenting on patient safety topics.
The 2018 symposium hosted by The Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council will be held on Friday, May 4th from noon to 5:00 pm. Staff or board members from Long Island community nonprofit organizations will be invited to learn about patient safety which, according to The World Health Organization (WHO), is “the prevention of errors and adverse effects to patients associated with health care." Each organization represented at the symposium will have an opportunity to apply for a grant. Symposium speakers have a strong connection to patient safety locally and nationally.
