PULSE: Celebrating 25 Years of Community Service with Comedy Fundraiser

Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy to Celebrate 25 Years of Community Service with Comedy Fundraiser

Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy, the nation’s first community-based patient safety organization, is celebrating 25 years of teaching the public how to avoid harm as a patient, and about standards and policies for safe medical care.

On September 18th, 2022 Pulse will be hosting their annual Comedy for a Cause: Patient Safety Isn't Funny, but Laughter is Still the Best Medicine at
The Brokerage Comedy Club. 2797 Merrick Rd., Bellmore NY.

At the 2022 Comedy Night

Pulse, which started at the
South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Freeport, LI, as a support group for survivors of medical injury, has grown into a national organization training family members to assist their loved ones as they go through the healthcare system.

Now there are more than 1,000 board-certified patient advocates throughout the United States, including many who started as family caregivers. Pulse is an approved provider of continuing education credits for professional independent patient advocates, and offers three free virtual programs a month for all families, caregivers, and advocates to improve their skills as patient advocates or caregivers.

"Our roots are here on Long Island," explains President and founder Ilene Corina, BCPA, "so we are happy to continue hosting this happy occasion and celebrate 25 years with the people who have helped make Pulse the success that it is today".

Pulse does not charge for its advocacy services.

The event will start at 6:00 PM with networking, and businesses are invited to bring their business cards and handouts. Showtime is 7:00 PM.

Date: September 18, 2022
Time: Doors open at 6:00pm for raffles and networking; show starts at 7:00.
Place: The Brokerage Comedy Club 2797 Merrick Rd, Bellmore, NY 11710
Tickets: $20 (plus sponsorship opportunities at $100 and $250, with promotional benefits).
