Long Island Gaming Internship Program - 516/631 Ads

The Long Island Gaming League (LIGL) is seeking to identify organizations interested providing internships and workforce development opportunities services to High School and College Students participants, ages 18 to 30.

In the Long Island Gaming League's Vocational Program (LIGLVP), participants within our program will be offered work readiness training, occupational training, and internships for in-demand sectors for 3 weeks, including job placement, after completing training. In addition, participants will have access to a myriad of supportive services throughout the program.

The goal of the program is to provide pathways to employment and economic mobility for students who reside in Long Island and the Tri State Area. The lack of career opportunities for gamers is largely due to a lack of knowledge about the transferable skill sets developed through gaming. This knowledge gap restricts economic activity and development within the gaming community, leading to fewer job opportunities and limited access to resources for new ventures. Gamers and students often face barriers to employment in other industries because they lack access to educational or vocational programs that would help them enter the job market. They may also experience discrimination when seeking employment. This concentrated lack of economic mobility can destabilize individuals and communities, making alternative paths less viable. This initiative aims to break this cycle by providing pathways to job readiness, training for sustainable and emerging industries, and supporting job placement for continued success.
Would your company be interested in joining our Community Resources for Employment and Development Program as an Employer Community Partner? This initiative is designed to address the lack of career opportunities for gamers and students by providing pathways to job readiness, training for sustainable and emerging industries, and supported job placement for continued success. As an Employer Community Partner, your company would play a crucial role in bridging the knowledge gap, offering valuable opportunities for skill development, and contributing to the economic mobility and stability of individuals and communities.
