Hello,

Do you want to see your friends, family, business associates and clients take an active role in preparing for their medical care or unplanned life events?  Than you may want to join The TakeCharge Campaign!

The Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education and Advocacy (CPSEA)  is undertaking an ambitious new initiative. The TakeCharge Campaign, an educational campaign will be starting in March to educate and empower patients and families to advocate for better healthcare. The campaign will focus attention on 5 important steps that will allow individuals to take charge of their health care decisions with clear information, effective planning and personal advocacy.

The goal is to reduce the risk of medical errors and support patient involvement in their care and treatment.  We need partners which will consist of professionals like you to reach as many people as possible. There will be a series of ways we hope the community will be involved making this a grassroots effort for public awareness in self advocacy for patients and families.

Pulse CPSEA is an established leader serving patient advocacy needs and services of  individuals. We are confident that a focused effort on 5 specific steps will help the public understand patient safety better.  Your support and partnership in The TakeCharge Campaign would go a long way in helping reach more people.

There will be a Zoom  presentation on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Noon Eastern New York Time to help answer any questions.  To join this 30 minute presentation and discussion please let me know if you or a representative are available and I will send the connection information.   It is helpful to know who will be on the call so we can list participants.

Please e-mail icorina@pulsecenterforpatientsafety.org with your name, title and company / organization if you plan to attend or if you have any  questions!

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Join the The TakeCharge Campaign and become recognized!

Want to know where the high cost of medical care is coming from?

Check out some of these recent studies!

  • Medical errors cost approximately $20 billion a year.
  • Medical errors in hospitals and clinics result in approximately 100,000 people dying each year.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK499956/

----------------------------------------------------

According to some statistics, medical errors continue to cause hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths and injuries each year in the United States, to the tune of some 115 incidents out of every 1,000 hospitalizations. These needless incidents cost an average of about $8,000 per admission.   https://www.psqh.com/analysis/lehman-report-analyzes-cost-of-medical-errors-despite-healthcare-progress/
