Our client is a family owned boutique travel company specializing in nature and cultural journeys around the world.Their team represents decades of travel industry experience, and our itineraries are based on first-hand knowledge of our destinations. They work with companies who are environmentally conscious and supportive of their local communities. Their journeys emphasize nature and culture and include locations throughout the world but we specialize in safaris through Africa and nature/cultural journeys in the rest of the world.

They are located in Woodside, Queens within walking distance of the 7 train and the Long Island Railroad Station. We also have a dog in the office on most days, in case allergies are an issue.Salary: $50k to $55k Commensurate with experience.

Job Description:
This position requires extensive organization and detail management skills, the ability to process various deadlines in a timely fashion and to balance and juggle various files at the same time. You must be especially good with numbers, well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite Word and Excel. You must be able to navigate around the internet in an efficient and effective manner. In addition, you may be in communication with account contacts over the phone or via email, so a pleasant, professional (and patient) manner is absolutely required. You should have a basic working knowledge of the destinations.

We are looking for someone who will prepare tour proposals for affinity groups and FIT travel programs. This includes gathering rates, calculating tour prices, writing and editing itineraries and creating and maintaining various documents such as contracts, tracking sheets and status reports. Knowledge of SABRE RED a plus!!

  • Must have a pleasant out-going personality with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in creating /drafting travel itineraries is a plus.
  • Ability to develop, cultivate and maintain clientele by enhancing existing relationships.
  • Ability to understand the dynamics of group travel, evaluate client’s needs and deliver the level of service that our client is known for.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to drive sales, including learning about destinations that may require study time and training outside of office hours.
