Caregiver Coordinator

This job description outlines the objective, primary responsibilities and/or requirements, and qualifications of the caregiver coordinator.

Objective:             The Caregiver Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Caregiver Manager and help assist in daily functions. This is an hourly position. 

Reports to:            Caregiver Manager (CM)

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Distribution and management of the caregiver newsletter
  • Assist with morale building recognition programs for the caregivers such as Caregiver of the Month, acknowledgments of high level performances and training completions
  • With direction from the CM, reviews the daily logs and timesheets weekly to assure that the caregiver is following the care plan and that lost hours are identified 
  • Contributes to the Caregiver contact board
  • Creates and runs ads accordingly based on data from hiring for the void
  • Does initial phone screening for all applicants
  • Distributes materials from the lending library to the caregivers on a regular basis to meet client needs   
  • Works with office admin on background and reference checks to assure that all caregiver files meet regulation and SH standards
  • Tracks all caregiver call outs, refusals of assignments, late arrivals, early departures, etc. 
  • Assists CM with training programs for Caregivers and maintains the library of SHU Modules and grades quizzes 
  • Keeps database of caregivers in Soneto and Generations current  
  • Other duties as assigned  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment
  • Must have excellent phone skills and follow- up skills with prospects, clients, and client families
  • Proactive problem prevention and issue resolution leadership ability
  • Minimum of six months experience in an HR role 
  • Industry experience preferred 
  • Bachelor's Degree and one year of related work experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook required
  • Ability to learn other software programs quickly
  • Strong verbal communication skills, especially using the telephone
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
