Long Island Health Care Initiative: Fighting to reduce small business health care costs through Group Health Care. The Long Island Strategic Alliance consisting of LIASB, ACP-LI, DMALI, LIMBA, ODN-LI and others have joined together to bring back Group Health Care to be offered by a 501 (c) 3, like the LIASB that can reduce the health care costs of small businesses by 30% to 40%. Other concerned organizations, like the Huntington and Melville Chambers have taken an active role in getting Group Health Care Insurance reinstated as well.

To get the necessary support, we are holding a Health Care Insurance Summit. We are bringing together all of our political leaders who are interested in helping Long Island small business survive, grow and hire in this tough economy. The annual “Call for Volunteer Boxers” has begun. The record-breaking success of the 2013 Fight for Charity 10^th Main Event is attributed to many, many people.  However, the business men and women, who stepped forward to volunteer to be the 2013 boxers played the most significant role.  Fight for Charity is getting ready for its 11^th Main Event to be held on Monday, November 24, 2014.   Mark your calendars.
Men and women interested in participating in a limited number of Main Event bouts, need to complete an 2014 volunteer boxer application; obtain medical clearance; make a commitment to train (gym locations to be announced); attend LIFFC events and raise funds for local charities.  Boxing experience isn’t necessary.  For questions and to requests boxer application email wjcorbett@corbettpr.com or call (877) 240-7821.
