Advertising
The term for everything we do.
Too many intricacies for one
post. Overall, if you place an
ad and it just sits there, not
much happens. Take a more offensive
approach to advertising. Mix
things up. Each of the five advertising
tools can be effective on their
own. When used together, it's
a systematic, foundation building
approach to advertising.
Ad extra ... Keep things simple.
Make your company easy to remember. 516Ads.com,
easy to remember. "There's
no time for down time" - PCfixer.com ...
nice tag line, easy to remember.
When you have a easy name to
remember, all of your other advertising
is more effective and less expensive.
The fence guy who puts out signs
promoting their services (we
applaud and support their effort),
however cars passing by at 10
MPH, never mind 50MPH aren't
remembering their phone number.
However, if you have a name like 777CLEAN.com or 631Ads.com, they
have a far better chance of remembering.
From a print ad standpoint, you
no longer need to take out big
display ads to get your point
across, you can take out smaller
ads. Additionally a print ad
reader, similar to driver probably
won't remember your phone number,
but with a easy to remember name,
down the road, when they finally
need your services, they have
a better chance of remembering
you.
Article Writing
We encourage clients to write
articles about their services.
For many, article writing is
a wonderful way to express/promote
what you do. If you're willing
to write consistently, set up
a blog on your site. The information
in your articles and newsletters
helps build your search engine
foundation and rankings. Articles
can also be used as the focal
point of your e-mail campaigns.
Our Long Island/ Your Island
section of 516Ads.com & 631Ads.com provides
a platform for article writing.
Networking
Most readers of this know about
networking. Whether it's the
early morning one per industry
networking breakfast or a Fortune
52 LongIslandPress.com extravaganza,
networking is an excellent way
to build business relationships.
You can never have enough resources
of networking events. It's up
to you to choose which ones are
best. Please, when you go to
a network event ... network.
If you go and stay in the same
spot with people you know, you're
not networking, you're hanging
out. 516Ads.com & 631Ads.comis
Long Island's #1 resource for
networking events. Other quality
networking resources include MeetUp.com, B2BNetEvents.com and Bernardoslist.com. Build
business relationships ... start
networking.
Another form of networking is
the -behind the scenes- internet
networking 516Ads.com & 631Ads.com have
been doing to build our network.
Cross links/ back links, whatever
the search engine people call
them, on Long Island our 516Ads.com & 631Ads.com Long
Island Advertising/Community
Network is building them. The516Network.com, Cleaning.li, Repairs.li, 777Classifieds.com, Blog.516Ads.com are
some of our many networking sites.
Soon to be joined by our Long
Island's Internet Directory. Cross
links/ Back links, build your
own, become a part of ours. Either
way, you'll benefit. End
result: Better search
engine rankings.
Most of you have heard of Craigslist.comThey've
become more of a pain in the
butt to post on lately, but can
be an effective tool and by far
the most popular of the three. Backpage.com is
my favorite. It's owned by the
Village Voice and reaches more
of an NYC audience. You can put
up to four logos on a post and
even better, pay a minimal amount
to have ad automatically reposted.
The best part, they run your
current ad ... and your last
five. If you do it right, you
can have six ads on one page.
Good stuff. Kijiji.comactually
kicked us off their site a long
time ago. We've been doing well
without them, but they are worth
your attention. A nice format
for FREE Classifieds. In addition
to possibly getting a response
from the FREE Classified that
you placed, when you place FREE
Classifieds systematically it
helps build your search engine
rankings/ internet foundation.
Media Inquiries
HelpAReporter.com-
This advertising tool came to
us from an Yvonne Bisk networking
event. The short acronym ...
HARO, stands for HelpAReporter.org. Excellent
idea.
Actually, advertising
wouldn't be an adequate term.
Answering media inquiries, working
to build media relations would
be more accurate. Peter Shankman
has put together this rapidly
growing help a reporter, build
media relationships website.
This is how it works: Reporters
from various media sources, as
well known as the NY Times, Newsday,
CNN to more obscure names are
looking for sources/experts for
stories. You can be their source/expert.
It's a smart/free way to try
and get your name out there.
The site's popularity is making
it more and more cumbersome to
look through the inquiries. You
can do it yourself, what's best
is to have us look through the
inquiries for you. Most of the
time they won't be relevant to
your expertise. BUT, every once
they will and we send it to you.
You answer reporter's inquiry
and hopefully get put in their
article. It's as simple as that.
Looking to get yourself into
the media/ possibly build media
relationships - HelpAReporter.com.
